WCCO: Macalester professor's grandmother one of 'human computers' that set stage for moo

Saturday is the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing, and a Macalester professor's grandmother is one of the women whose tireless mathematical work set the stage for one of the biggest moments in history. Miriam Daniel Mann was one of the original 11 African American women working for NASA in the mid-20th century, known as the "human computers," who worked in segregated conditions. Mann worked for NASA from 1943 to 1966 and knew the women depicted in the movie Hidden Figures.
