Kamala Harris walked a fine line familiar to many women of color during the debate

Duchess Harris chimes in on NBC's article about how the California senator brought her traditional résumé, barrier-breaking background and a collection of facial expressions to Wednesday’s debate. "There is no doubt that Harris is prepared," said Duchess Harris, a professor of American studies and political science at Macalester College in Minnesota who researches Black women in politics and is not related to the senator.
